Best RTX 2080 Laptop

The flagship ASUS laptop – the G703GX – is the final boss of gaming laptops. Sporting a screen display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz in 1080p, i9-8950HK, 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD, this RTX 2080 powered laptop is our top choice.

Pros:
Cons:

Leave it to ASUS ROG when it comes to top-tier gaming laptops.

It screams high-quality from top to bottom; lavish 17.3″ screen that displays 1080p resolution at 144 Hz (ideal for competitive games), Intel Core i9-8950HK, 32GB RAM, 1.39TB NVMe SSD and an RTX 2080 8GB.

If that’s not powerful enough for a gaming laptop, I don’t know what else is. However, the high-end hardware does increase the overall weight of the laptop. And then, there is the battery life – although this should not be a large issue because who in the right mind would play on a laptop without the charger plugged in? Also, there is the price. It is currently one of the most expensive laptops to date but for good reasons.

However, if you are willing to go all-in, this is the best gaming laptop ever made, especially when it comes to performance.

Best Value RTX 2080 Laptop

It’s one of the most affordable RTX 2080 laptops available and the G7 15 makes sure its overall performance while making every penny worth it. Sporting a modern professional look, ergonomic keyboard and touchpad design, the G7 15 easily runs AAA hardware-demanding games of today.

Pros:
Cons:

Currently, the G7 15 is the cheapest RTX 2080 laptop available. Dell have managed to provide a great machines that costs less than most other RTX 2080 laptops. The G7 15 has a smaller SSD hard drive, a 9th generation i7, and a 15.6″ 144Hz display. Everything else feels solid and well-built and comes with 16GB RAM and an extra 256GB SSD, enough for most gamers.

Although, we would like to point out on its RGB keyboard: while it looks great overall, we felt the colors “feel like” they’re just dim the whole time. The same goes for the speakers; they sound pretty soft even at max volume. For gaming you should buy a separate gaming headset and/or laptop speakers for Netflix.

Thinnest RTX 2080 Laptop

Portable yet powerful, the MSI GS75 Stealth does something that no other gaming laptop does well: using powerful hardware within a very thin laptop. It is amazing what MSI have achieved, and honestly, it runs extremely well. It is not cheap but it’s worth the money especially if you’re always on the go.

Pros:
Cons:

The GS75 lives up to its promise: a light compact laptop that delivers comparable power to a pre built gaming PC. It’s amazing how MSI managed to fit the high end hardware into a laptop that looks more like a traveler’s blogging tool than a hardcore gaming machine (kudos). The keyboard feels very comfortable, and the fan barely emits any sound, the machine had respectable thermals under normal gaming. The base internal storage includes a 512GB SSD but fortunately, you can add more thanks to its 3 additional slots.

However, not everything is a dream come true for the GS75 – since the design is so thin and light, increases the risk of potential damage further down the line. That and its touchpad placement feels “a bit weird” and unless you turn off the trackpad, you’ll often accidentally click places due to poor palm detection.

Overall, it’s an amazing laptop. It breaks the stereotype of gaming laptops always needing to look like it came from a Michael Bay sci-fi movie by looking very professional, thin and light.

Best Alienware RTX 2080

Alienware are back and they are killing it with the Area 51m. Why? Because, for such a small package, it carries around hardware that normally only desktop gaming PCs can handle.

Pros:
Cons:

The Alienware Area-51m is, perhaps, the biggest contender against the ASUS ROG G703GX. For an Alienware laptop, it doesn’t look very edgy; and I love it. Going for a more posh and professional vibe, the Area-51m can compete with desktop PCs with high specifications. It feels good too; keyboard feels comfortable, the trackpad doesn’t get annoying to use, additionally the weight does not discern excessive heaviness.

You don’t see a gaming laptop like this everyday: 32GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, 1TB SSHD, GeForce RTX 2080 8GB, and Intel Core i9-9900K. Sounds expensive… because it is.

Best Razer RTX 2080 Laptop

Created for the competitive gamer, the Razer Blade 15 Advanced houses hardware where the sky is the limit. Sporting a very beautiful look, vibrant RGB keyboard, a responsive trackpad, crisp IPS monitor and future-proof refresh rate, it’s one of the best Razer gaming laptops ever made.

Pros:
Cons:

Razer is the brand that heeds your call when you need a solution to make you a better competitive gamer. And, if your main platform is a compact powerful gaming laptop, then Blade 15 is the solution. It includes all the competitive edge you need: 240 Hz, G-Sync and amazing keyboard feel. It’s also surprisingly light which makes this a contender to the MSI GS75 Stealth.

Just a note, do not expect this machine to run the latest AAA games at 240 FPS despite this machine having a 240 Hz monitor. For older/competitive games like CSGO,DOTA 2, Overwatch etc it should be able to fully leverage the 240Hz pannel.

If you like the look of the new Razer Blade Advnaced and you’re willing to spend the bucks on a competitive gaming laptop, this is a great choice.

It’s a tough decision since they’re all great. None of them are particularly cheap but they can all compete with the most powerful desktop PCs available as well as modern games that demand a lot of hardware performance.

We think the Asus ROG G703GX is the best RTX laptop (cost/value aside) but, overal we would go with the Dell G7 15. Why? Because if you compare it to other laptops in this article, there is barely any difference and the price is better. We benchmarked each machine with the same games: Apex Legends, Rainbow Six: Siege, CSGO, GTAV, Battlefield V, The Witcher 3 and DotA 2.

The G7 15 was cheapest among the 5, Dell’s gaming laptop is future-proof, thin, light and performs well – which makes it our choice for the overall best value RTX 2080 laptop we would buy.
